As an Assisted Reproduction and Genetics Institute, Ingenes has the highest success rates in Latin America and clinics in the US, but most importantly, we have delivered more than 15,000 babies.
At Ingenes we are very proud that our patients have achieved an average accumulated rate of having a baby of 65% in their first cycle, 75% with a second cycle, 85% in a third cycle and 96% with a fourth cycle.
It is important to mention that, regarding the number of treatments performed, we are also 240% above Mexico’s REDLARA registered fertility centers. Positioning Ingenes as the fertility center with the largest share of Mexico’s market in high complexity infertility case resolution.
Besides being the Institute that performs most of Mexico’s treatments, you can also see in the chart above that our newborn success rates surpass Latin America and United States’ fertility clinics average.
Specifically, our newborn rate via in vitro fertilization (IVF) with a patient’s own eggs is 38 percent higher than the average of Mexico’s registered fertility centers; and 8 percent higher than United States’ clinics.
Meanwhile, our newborn rate via in vitro fertilization (IVF) with donor eggs is 23% higher than the average of Mexico’s fertility centers accredited by REDLARA.
In conclusion, after completing their first IVF cycle with egg donation, 53.5% of our patients achieve their dream of having a baby; while more than 41% of our patients using their own eggs achieve their goal in their first attempt.
Rates published in this document are the average of all In-Vitro Fertilization cycles performed at our institute in 2015. Since each case is unique, however, our doctors can help you estimate your own chance of having a baby based on your particular diagnosis
Although our mission is to help you achieve your dream with the least stress possible, the number of IVF you choose to submit to plays a critical role in the success of your treatment. Women who submit to three cycles have an accumulated success probability of 85 percent; much greater than that of women who abandon the treatment after one or two cycles.
This report shows only the success rates of In-Vitro Fertilization treatments and does not include births by artificial insemination, ovulation induction or other methods.
How to interpret a fertility center’s success rates?
Since fertility clinics use different methods to measure their results, success rates can be misunderstood when used to compare clinics or to estimate the likelihood of having a baby in a certain case.
Success rates can be divided into:
Gestation or pregnancy rate – It is determined according to the percentage of embryo transfers that result in a positive pregnancy test. It is important to consider that a positive pregnancy test does not necessarily indicate that a gestational sac exists, or that it contains a fetus with heartbeat.
Implantation rate – Percentage of gestational sacs observed by means of an ultrasound with respect to the total number of embryos transferred in a certain period.
Clinical pregnancy rate – Percentage of embryo transfers resulting in a gestational sac with a heartbeat.
Live newborn rate – Likelihood of having at least one baby as a result of an embryo transfer after an IVF cycle or attempt.
At Ingenes we believe that the figures should show the percentage of IVF cycles that culminated in the birth of a baby, as the ultimate objective of our patients is not only to achieve a pregnancy, but to have a baby at home.
Other factors you should consider when interpreting a fertility clinic’s success rates are:
Success rates vary considerably according to a woman’s age. Therefore, to correctly estimate the likelihood of success offered by a clinic you must pay attention to the number of births among women in your own age group.
Success rates should consider all the patients that underwent an IVF treatment in a certain time period, and not only a group of patients, as this could alter the accuracy of the results.
Each IVF cycle represents an attempt, not each patient. For example, if a woman has undergone three cycles at a clinic, she should be counted three times in the statistics.
No mechanism exists to guarantee the authenticity of the success rates of a fertility center. However, at Ingenes honesty is one of our fundamental values. Our success rates are also currently in a certification process by a public notary. Despite this, when selecting a fertility center it is important to consider the trust it inspires in you and the recommendations of other doctors and patients.
In order to improve their results, some clinics reject patients with a low likelihood of success. On the contrary, Ingenes is the fertility center with the largest share of Mexico’s market regarding high complexity case resolution, and is proud not to exclude anybody.
