What is Artificial Insemination?

It is an Assisted Reproduction procedure of low complexity, which consists of placing sperm into the uterus through a catheter. It’s a less invasive method than high complexity treatments and can increase the chances of fertilization.

The sperm sample can be provided by a partner or from a donor, giving single women, heterosexual couples, and same-sex couples the possibility of having a baby. At our artificial insemination center, we take great care when preparing the sperm sample to maximize its effectiveness in achieving pregnancy. The entire process is quick and has minimal discomfort. It is often one of the first steps taken when addressing fertility issues.

Artificial insemination, USA and Mexico, is widely available and an affordable option for those looking to start or grow their family. It is a safe and proven technique. Many couples find success with just a few cycles. This method is often recommended for those with mild fertility challenges or unexplained infertility.

Types of Artificial Insemination

There are two main types of artificial insemination: Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and Intracervical Insemination (ICI).

In IUI, the sperm is placed directly into the uterus, putting it closer to where fertilization occurs. This method is more common and has higher success rates compared to ICI.

In ICI, the sperm is placed just outside the cervix, allowing it to naturally move into the uterus. This method is less invasive but may have lower success rates.

At our artificial insemination center, we offer both types of artificial insemination treatments. Which type you receive depends on your specific needs. Our specialists will work with you to determine which method is best suited for your situation. Whether you’re looking for artificial insemination in Mexico or the USA, our center provides both options to help you achieve pregnancy.

Success Rates of Artificial Insemination

The success rates of artificial insemination treatment vary based on several factors, including age and sperm quality. Of course, the specific type of insemination used has an effect as well.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) generally has a higher success rate than Intracervical Insemination (ICI). On average, success rates range from 10% to 20% per cycle, but can be higher for younger women or those without significant fertility issues.
At our artificial insemination center, we strive to optimize every aspect of the process to improve your chances of success.

Factors such as timing, the preparation of the sperm, and the health of both partners play a crucial role. With personalized care and advanced technology, our artificial insemination center in the USA and Mexico is dedicated to helping you achieve the best possible outcome.

How is it done?

Generally, a specialist places sperm with the help of a catheter into the mother's uterus, previously prepared, through something known as 'sperm capacitation', with the aim of increasing the fertility levels of the sperm, facilitating fertilization, and leading to a pregnancy in the best scenario.

The process begins with a fertility diagnosis to determine if artificial insemination is the proper treatment. Once confirmed, ovarian stimulation medications are administered to promote egg development.

During the procedure, great care is taken with the sperm sample to ensure the highest quality. The insemination process is straightforward and usually takes only a few minutes. After insemination, some patients may experience mild cramping or spotting, which typically resolves quickly, and should rest briefly before resuming normal activities. The entire procedure is quick, causes minimal discomfort, and has very few risks. Many patients feel at ease during and after the process.
1.

Diagnosis
The first step is getting an updated, and accurate diagnosis, to determine whether artificial insemination is the right option.

2.

Ovarian stimulation
Ovarian stimulation is induced by the use of hormonal medication.

3.

Sperm capacitation
The semen sample, obtained from the partner or donor, is prepared.

4.

Insemination
The prepared semen sample is transferred to the uterus to facilitate fertilization, embryo formation, and pregnancy.

How long is the IUI process from beginning to end?

The IUI process typically takes about 4-6 weeks from start to finish. It begins with an initial evaluation to assess fertility. This meeting is vital to ensure the proper procedure is chosen and includes blood tests and ultrasounds. These tests help to track the menstrual cycle and determine the best time for ovulation.

Once ovulation is confirmed, ovarian stimulation medications are given to help the eggs mature. This stimulation phase lasts about 10-14 days. When the eggs are ready, the insemination is scheduled.

The actual insemination procedure is quick and usually painless. After the insemination, a two-week waiting period follows before a pregnancy test is done to confirm the outcome. Throughout the process, regular monitoring ensures the best possible timing and results.
