Causes
Although the exact causes of asthenozoospermia are not known, there are factors that may play a role, such as:

Seminal infections
Testicular problems
Poor nutrition
Excessive use of alcohol, caffeine, tobacco or other drugs
Age (+45 years)
Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy
Prolonged exposure to heat in cars, saunas or hot tubs
